Trans Youth CAN!

Welcome to the new website for Trans Youth CAN!

We will be adding content as we build this site, so not all content may be available (or perhaps not in both English and French) immediately. Thank you for your patience.

We are a pan-Canadian team of researchers, clinicians, parents and allies of trans youth who have come together to produce long-overdue data on the health and well-being of trans youth who are referred to clinics for puberty blockers or hormones. Trans youth will be sharing personal and medical information on their experiences as we follow their journeys through clinical care. For each youth, a parent or caregiver may also be able to share their experiences through surveys, so we can learn more about the types of stressors on the families of trans youth and how to better support family well-being. We are committed to ensuring our research results are used in ways that support improvements to medical care, social support services, and social inclusion more broadly, with the ultimate outcome being to identify the best ways to support and promote the health and well-being of trans youth.

We are now in the process of baseline data collection (with 54 youth or parent/caregiver participants to date). We will be posting results on this site, including posting brief reports or other quick and sharable formats, to more rapidly return key results to the community. In the meantime, you can use this site to learn more about the study and the people involved!
